The key to quality and accurate legal translation is getting the translator with the right specialist legal background to work on your project. We use United Nations or European Parliament translators working into their mother tongue and specialising in your subject area (patents, business law, copyright, Intellectual Property or other legal areas)

In addition, we only engage professional translators who are in-country for all legal projects.  For instance, a case may well be conducted in Chinese but the linguistic style, dialect, culture and legal framework between Shanghai and Hong Kong would be significantly different.  That is why we choose our translators who work within specialist areas very carefully. Legal translation work is only assigned to suitably qualified in-country translators.

Our translators understand and interpret the meaning of the words as well as the legal effect of the articles in the process of translating into the intended language.  In most cases where legal texts are involved, a literal and succinct translation will suffice. Our legal translation service produces texts which are comprehensible and unambiguous. We will produce a complete translation of what is given, without any prejudice nor opinion. Translation produced through this process will be equal in its legal effect to the original articles.

We are able to provide the following on request, accompanying the translation:

• A certificate of accuracy, signed by a senior member of our company stating the procedure followed to produce the translation
• A witness statement, signed by the translator to say that the translated text is a ‘true and accurate representation of the original’
• Property/exhibit labels, to identify our translation in court
• Attendance in court, translators are sometimes requested to defend their translation in court
